Conservation Through Collaboration

Below are key areas that are being negatively impacted by the wind turbines

Birds & Wind Turbines
Wind turbines, while a source of renewable energy, have negative impacts on local bird populations. Birds may collide with turbine blades, leading to injury particularly for migratory species. It's important to consider these ecological consequences when planning wind energy projects to protect our av friends. Conservation efforts should aim to minimize these through careful site selection.

Wetlands
Hydrologic alterations in wetlands can significantly alter soil chemistry and plant and animal communities. These alterations can result from various factors, including the deposition of fill material, draining, dredging, channelization, diking, damming, diversion of flow, and the addition of impervious surfaces in the watershed, which increases water and pollutant runoff into wetlands.
